Hot Wax

For many, waxing is the top choice for removing body hair in a quick, effective way. It leaves you feeling smooth and confident for longer. If you have ever had waxing treatments, you might have had warm wax applied to your skin. But when it comes to wax, temperature matters. Hot waxing is another treatment option available that can often be more efficient than other methods.

What Is How Waxing?

As the name implies, hot waxing uses hot wax, as opposed to just warm wax, which is usually the standard for traditional waxing. The wax is thicker and is heated to a higher temperature so that when it cools, it gets a firmer grip on the hairs you want to remove. The wax is applied to the desired area, then left to cool for a short time. Once it has cooled down, it is quickly removed in one swift movement. Instead of using strips of wax, the hot wax is applied freely and peeled off.

Advantages of Hot Wax

There are several benefits to using hot wax over other types of waxing and hair removal. Firstly, hot wax can be much more effective than normal warm wax because it can get hold of hairs that warm wax might not be able to. Another great advantage is that hot waxing can be much kinder to delicate and intimate areas of the body. It’s better for sensitive skin, too. So if you are thinking of going in for a bikini waxing, including extended bikini waxes, Brazilian waxes, and Hollywood waxes, hot wax might be the better option to consider. Hot waxing works well on small patches of hair, especially if the hair is stronger and coarser than other hair. Also, it’s cleaner and doesn’t leave a residue like traditional waxing does.

Is Hot Wax Painful?

One of the worries that a lot of people have is whether hot waxing is painful. You might have had a waxing treatment before and found it can hurt. If you’re considering hot waxing, it’s important to be aware that it can cause some pain or discomfort. However, the process of removing the wax is quick. Additionally, hot wax doesn’t stick to your skin like strips of warm wax do. This means that although pulling the hair out can feel uncomfortable, the wax won’t pull at your skin as much. While we can’t make the process entirely painless (we wish we could!) we do try and make hot waxing as pain-free as possible.

How Often Should You Get a Wax?

After having a hot wax treatment, only small amounts of hair will begin to grow back within the first 3 weeks. However, after this period, you will notice more regrowth. If you want to stay smooth, we recommend having a hot wax treatment every 4 to 6 weeks.
